Having just finished reading your truly inspiring story I decided to take a peek at your blog. Then it suddenly dawned on me that often we read books and whilst reading, the story envelopes you and grips you but once finished often they are forgotten tales. Having read your blog suddenly made it all so real and I felt deep humbleness for you and wanted to simply say how proud I feel for you to have overcome such sadness and torment in your life. Hi Anya,
I read your book with great interest and am so pleased for you that you persevered with your self belief. Life isn't the way it's supposed to be it's the way it is and we all have to make the most of what we have. If we have nothing, then we just have to dig deeper. I've dug deep many times, infact, I'm surprised I haven't popped up in bloody Australia at times!

I am a 16 year old girl from Singapore. I got to know your blog after reading it from the Reader's Digest, Febuary edition.
I was really touched and inspired by your story and I really respect you for being able to not giving up despite all the horrifying things you had suffered in your past.
You made me realize how lucky I am to have such a wonderful family and friends around me.

Your book made me cry buckets and i couldnt help but feel compassion for you!

My only hum hum was that the ending of your book was very rushed... the beginning and middle were so moving but i thought the ending wasnt keeping my feelings focussed... i found it was (as i said) rushed??

but in all i think ur a terrific person and i want to say well done!! youv'e come through such a tough childhood and i just hope life goes easy on you now :)

My name is Liz and im 24 i have just finished reading your book which i found was very inspirational i am currently going through counsilling to try to cope with my past i was physically and sexually abuse i suffer with depression and i went to my doctor for help. i read your book and others like it that made me realise that people are strong enough to survive and move on and i am trying to move on with my life i live with my wonderful partner and were planning to start our family i feel for once in my life that the future can be happy, i wanted to share a little of my story with you as you have been so couragious in doing so with the world and i thank you for that. i wish i could write as you do, you have real talant and i will look forward to reading more of your blogs

I'm in a situation now very different from you. but somehow, i can totally feel your emotions. The way that you might have felt while homeless and there is no place or people to turn to. Our aim is to show people love and respect when they eventually get the courage to come for help. We do our utmost to preserve their dignity.
